What does Ad Astra mean?

The name of the company, Ad Astra, is based on the Latin phrase Per aspera ad astra, which means "through hardships to the stars", or simply put, to success through difficulties.

The phrase reflects the vision of the company: based on our consulting services, we help our  clients to achieve their goals through any obstacles the market, the industry and the culture present along the way.

Why choosing Ad Astra Coffee Consulting

We are not a bridge. We're a local guide — someone who's already walked the terrain and knows where the potholes are.

Most coffee companies entering China and Asia have the product. What they lack is the context: regulatory, cultural, commercial.

We fill that gap, whether it's finding the right partner, designing a product for local palates, or building a market entry strategy that works outside a boardroom.

Who we are

We are a team of Coffee and F&B professionals & experts.

We help international coffee and F&B brands enter and grow in China and Asia. Not with generic advice — with on-the-ground strategy, market intelligence, and execution support that starts at the farm and ends at the storefront.

We've advised a Swiss multinational on APAC market entry, built a coffee bean brand from scratch in Chengdu, scouted manufacturing partners across China, and developed market-entry strategies for Ethiopian and Latin American origins.

Every project is different. Our approach isn't.

Building an Asia-Pacific coffee bridge takes more than good beans — it takes market intelligence

Felipe is the founder of Ad Astra Coffee Consulting and APAC Strategic Advisor to a Swiss multinational coffee company.

A Colombian native who has spent the last 15+ years at the intersection of coffee, business, and culture across Asia and Latin America, he holds a Master's in Modern Chinese History and is a licensed Q Grader.

Before founding AACC, he led wholesale at an international coffee roaster in Shanghai, managed the sales team for a German coffee brand, and wrote for Perfect Daily Grind and other coffee magazines.

Today, Felipe advises international brands on market entry across APAC — from strategy to operations to brick-and-mortar execution — bridging Latin American and many more coffee origins with Asia-Pacific growth markets.
